North Central Thunder Cross Country Caps Off Season

The North Central Thunder Cross Country team ended their 2025 season on Saturday at the South Dakota State Cross Country Meet held at Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron. Competing among the top runners in the state, the Thunder showed incredible effort, determination, and pride in their final race of the season.

In the boys’ Class B division, the Thunder placed an impressive 7th overall out of 18 teams. Drew led the way with a strong 21st-place finish, followed by Aaron (33rd), Noah (59th), Jason (60th), and Avery (70th) out of 121 varsity runners. Their consistent performances throughout the year culminated in a well-earned top-ten finish at state.

In the girls’ division, Grace and Mikaela represented North Central with outstanding efforts, placing 49th and 69th respectively out of 111 varsity runners. Both athletes ran tough races on a challenging course, showcasing the same determination that carried them through the season.

The 2025 season was one filled with growth, teamwork, and memorable performances. As the Thunder close the book on this year’s competition, they can look back with pride and look ahead with excitement for what’s to come.

Congratulations to the North Central Thunder Cross Country team on a fantastic season!

The North Central Thunder Cross Country team traveled to Gettysburg on Wednesday for the Region 4 Meet. Despite the cool, drizzly weather, our runners gave it everything they had and left it all on the course.

🌩️ The boys team — Drew, Aaron, Avery, Jason, and Noah — dominated the competition, placing 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th to claim the title of Region 4 Champions!

⚡ In the girls division, Grace placed 9th, Mikaela 10th, Katherina 21st, and Georgia 32nd, with strong finishes all around.

👏 The boys team, along with Grace and Mikaela, will now advance to the SD State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, October 25th in Huron, SD!

Let’s hear it for our Thunder runners — your hard work and determination make us proud! 🏅

Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for October 28th through October 30th (Tuesday-Thursday). Students in Grades 5-12 will be dismissed at 1:10 PM all three days of conferences. Students in Grades K-4 will have regular days of school and dismiss at the regular time on days, as arrangements have been made to ensure that conferences for these students can take place after 3:30 PM. Afternoon, bus routes will run at the time of the early dismissal and again at the time of regular dismissal.

We will again be conducting student-led conferences for students in Grades 5-12. Each student has been scheduled for a 15-minute block of time in which they will lead their own conference. Parents, and all of the student's teachers, are expected to attend the conference. Scheduled times will be sent home with students this afternoon. So please check with your student to ensure that you aware of your scheduled time(s). We have a very limited availability in regard to rescheduling conference times as we are planning to conduct over 100 conferences over the course of three days, with many of them taking place simultaneously. We will do our best to address conflicts that may arise; however, we cannot guarantee that additional time slots will be available.

This message has also been delivered via Rooms and can be accessed through the Edmunds Central app for those that have signed up.

Thanks!
