The Edmunds Central Student Council has designed and is selling Homecoming shirts for this year's Disney/Pixar theme "Imagination Sparks, Thunder Roars." The shirts can be ordered online or with an order form being sent home. Paper order forms will be due on September 11th, and the online store will close September 14th at midnight.

It was a fast and furious week for North Central Thunder activities. It was great to see our student-athletes have the opportunity to compete on several different fronts. We appreciate your efforts and the enthusiasm you brought to, and for, our programs. Likewise, thank you to everyone that helped out in some capacity over the course of the week. Whether it was working an event, providing transportation, or simply supporting our student-athletes, we appreciate you and your efforts! Go Thunder!
The North Central Thunder Cross Country team competed Thursday at our home meet, hosted at the Bowdle Country Club. Both the Boys Varsity and Boys Junior Varsity teams had an outstanding performance, earning 1st place in their divisions! Congratulations to all of our runners on a strong start to the 2025 season. Keep up the hard work and determination—Thunder Pride is running strong!

Today marks the beginning of a three-day stretch filled with North Central Thunder activities. The North Central Invitational Cross Country Meet is schedule for today at 10:00 AM at the golf course in Bowdle. Later today, the MS and HS Volleyball teams kick of their seasons against Gettysburg in Bowdle. Games are scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM. Tomorrow (Friday), the varsity FB team travels to Dupree for a 7:00 PM CT game versus the Tigers. Finally, Edmunds Central is hosting the YTC Volleyball Tournament beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday in Roscoe. A huge shout out to Mrs. Zinter's FACS class and Mrs. Trefz's Ag class for their work in shucking, cutting, and bagging 150 lbs of cut sweet corn for our school today. The students and staff at E.C. will appreciate the service of these two classes for months to come!

We would like to take a moment to thank everyone for a wonderful first week of school at Edmunds Central. We are excited for our new partnership with the Bowdle School District and appreciate the patience, flexibility, and assistance they have provided us throughout the week. Likewise, our students and their parents deserve a ton of credit for how they have handled the many transitions taking place in our building. Things haven't been perfect, but collectively we have met each challenge with enthusiasm and resolve. We certainly appreciate your grace and patience as we work to make things as efficient and effective as we can for our families. Lastly, we would like to thank our teachers and staff members. The success we experienced this week would not be possible without your hard work, enthusiasm, and flexibility. There is a lot of "new" going on in our district and we are incredibly fortunate to have great teachers and staff members that make a difference each and every day. Thanks again to everyone. We appreciate you!

School begins at 8:10 AM tomorrow, Monday, August 18th. Elementary students will report to their classrooms at that time. 5th-12th Grade students will report to the new gym for a short meeting with Mr. Kunz and will then spilt into class meetings. EC FFA is hosting a Back to School Kick Off on Sunday August 24th from 6-8pm at the Roscoe City Park. Come join us for a potluck dinner and yard games!
There will be a question and answer session with Mr. Kunz at 5:30 PM in the main gymnasium this evening during open house. We will address topics such as busing, activity transportation, etc. We look forward to seeing everyone this evening!

On Saturday the North Central Thunder Football Team hosted their second annual golf tournament fundraiser at the golf course in Eureka. We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support we received from participants, parents, and community members. 20 teams participated in the 4-person scramble event and we received donations/sponsorships from over 50 businesses/entities. In total the football team was able to raise over $11,000 for their program. Once again, none of this would be possible without great support from our families and communities. We cannot thank you enough for the support you have shown for the football program. Go Thunder!!
