Looking ahead to Friday it appears that morning temperatures are going to be in the -20s with wind chills approaching the -50s. While both are expected to rise slightly by the afternoon, that improvement does not overlap with the times in which we would expect students to travel to and from school for student-help. With that in mind, we are going to exercise the flexibility that we have in our calendar and flip-flop this Friday with next Friday. There will be no student-help this Friday, January 23rd. Next Friday, January 30th will now become a student-help Friday. At this time, this change does not impact any activities scheduled for the afternoon/evening of Friday, January 23rd. We apologize for the short notice and appreciate your flexibility in regard to this change. Thanks!

One last message regarding semester tests. As testing has become a matter of student-choice, students will not be penalized for electing to take a semester test. The resulting grade on a semester test will only be applied to a student's final semester grade if the test grade will improve the semester grade. Should you have any additional questions regarding semester tests, please contact Mr. Kunz. Thanks!

Due to the school cancelation today, semester tests will no longer be required for 6th-12th Grade students. That being said, any student that wishes to take a semester test in an effort to improve their grade is welcome to do so on Friday, December 19th. School hours will be from 8:10 AM to 11:30 AM. There will be no scheduled testing periods. Students will report to the teachers and classes of the tests they choose to take during school hours. Any other chapter tests or outstanding work for the 2nd Quarter will still be required and will need to be completed during school hours on Friday. Unfinished or outstanding work will not be accepted after 11:30 AM. If a student plans to be present to take a semester test or complete other work on Friday, they will need to message their teacher to make them aware of their intentions. The P.A.C. Christmas activities for PK-5th Grade scheduled for tomorrow will move forward as planned. Buses will run at their normal times before school and will also run at dismissal time (11:30 PM). The bus returning students to Bowdle will depart Roscoe at 11:10 AM. No lunch will be served on Friday. Thanks!

While it appears that snow will taper off in the next hour and visibility may improve, winds have increased significantly since the last message we sent out. As a result, we do not believe that we can safely put buses on the roads today. If we are unable to send out buses we do not believe there should be an expectation that students and parents attempt to travel in the same conditions. As such, Edmunds Central Schools will be CLOSED today, Thursday, December 18th. All activities and practices scheduled for today have been canceled. We will send out information regarding semester tests and other scheduling items for tomorrow later this morning. Thanks!

We will still be administering semester tests for periods 5, 6, 7, and 8 (in that order) today. This is no change from the original plan. Times for testing periods will be adjusted slightly. Once that information has been put together, we will pass that along. Thanks!

Due to the blowing snow and poor visibility, Edmunds Central Schools will be starting 2 HOURS LATE today, Thursday, December 18th. We apologize for the late notice as the snow just became an issue in the past 20-30 minutes. Due to the late start we will push dismissal time back to 3:10 PM. We will send out more information about testing schedules shortly. Thanks!
