Earlier this morning the bus used for our morning Hosmer/Bowdle route had some mechanical issues shortly after picking up students in Bowdle. We were able to switch buses and get everyone to school safely, albeit about 45 minutes later than normal. Thank you to the Bowdle School District for their help, both in providing an alternate bus and for overseeing the transition from one bus to the other. We certainly appreciate your assistance!

North Central Thunder Cross Country Caps Off Season

The North Central Thunder Cross Country team ended their 2025 season on Saturday at the South Dakota State Cross Country Meet held at Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron. Competing among the top runners in the state, the Thunder showed incredible effort, determination, and pride in their final race of the season.

In the boys’ Class B division, the Thunder placed an impressive 7th overall out of 18 teams. Drew led the way with a strong 21st-place finish, followed by Aaron (33rd), Noah (59th), Jason (60th), and Avery (70th) out of 121 varsity runners. Their consistent performances throughout the year culminated in a well-earned top-ten finish at state.

In the girls’ division, Grace and Mikaela represented North Central with outstanding efforts, placing 49th and 69th respectively out of 111 varsity runners. Both athletes ran tough races on a challenging course, showcasing the same determination that carried them through the season.

The 2025 season was one filled with growth, teamwork, and memorable performances. As the Thunder close the book on this year’s competition, they can look back with pride and look ahead with excitement for what’s to come.

Congratulations to the North Central Thunder Cross Country team on a fantastic season!
